Our family moved to Barrie in 1982 and both our children are graduates of the Catholic system. My husband and I were always involved in our children’s schools. My volunteering at St John Vianney Catholic School led to a position as Educational Assistant. Following that, I worked as School Office Administrator for 20 years retiring from St. Nicholas Catholic Elementary School.
I have been a member of St. John Vianney Parish and very involved in parish life, joining various ministries over the years and currently active as Minister of Communion and Wedding coordinator.
In 2010 I was elected as a Catholic trustee representing wards 6-10. In my capacity as trustee I have served 3 yrs as Chair of the Board of Trustees and 4 years as Vice-Chair. I also have been involved in various committees and presently serve as a member of: Executive Compensation, Board Policy Review, Audit, and SAL Committees.
Trustees are elected by taxpayers to serve as their representatives at the board table and I have always worked diligently to ensure that the stakeholders’ voices are heard in such matters as bussing issues, parent and school staff conflict resolutions.

Please take a few minutes to view vreg.registertovoteon.ca and click on “Contact Your Municiaplity” check or update your information, and encouage your friends and family to do the same.
Other options to check if you are on the Voters List:
- Call 1-866-242-3025 to Register to vote
- Visit Legislative Services Branch located at City Hall, 70 Collier Street, first floor
How to be added to the voters list?
If you are not on the Voters List, or if your information is incorrect (for example, you have moved and may be listed at a former address), you may apply to have your name added or your information corrected.
Before Sept 1st, 2026, visit registertovoteon.ca to check, update or add your information to the voter’s list. Or call 1-866-242-3025
After Sept 1st, 2026, you must appy to the municipality clerk to update or add information to the voter’s list.
This may be done until the close of voting on October 26, 2026. You may also have your name added to the Voters List at the voting place.
VOTING METHODS
The City of Barrie will once again offer residents the convenience of casting their ballots through internet and telephone voting for the 2026 Municipal Election. Barrie City Council formally approved the use of these alternative voting methods in 2019 through Council motion 19‑G‑280, authorizing the City Clerk to proceed with online and telephone voting for future elections.
For 2026, the City will deliver these services using the secure digital voting platform Voatz. This modernized approach aligns with Ontario’s broader allowance for alternative voting methods designed to enhance accessibility, reduce barriers and support higher voter participation.
In addition to voting from home or on personal devices, residents will also be able to visit a voter assistance centre, where they can receive in‑person support to cast their vote using the platform.
The integration of Voatz’s technology aims to provide a reliable, user‑friendly and accessible voting experience for all eligible electors. View the internet and telephone voting election policies and procedures for more information.
Voter Information Cards
Electors who are on the voters list will receive a voter information card by regular mail. The voter information cards will contain a personal information number (PIN) specific to the elector with information on the voting process (how to vote online) and casting your ballot for Barrie’s 2026 Municipal Election.

Voting assistant centers
The Voting Assistance Centers are City-operated physical locations where electors may attend in-person for assistance with the voting process and to cast their ballot. A Voting Assistance Centre will be open in each ward. Check Barrie.ca for times and locations.

Am I eligible to vote for Catholic school trustee?
This is particularly important because school-board voting eligibility is different from simply being eligible to vote in the municipal election.
To vote for an English language separate school board, a voter must be a Canadian citizen, 18+, Roman Catholic and the voter or their spouse must be an English-language separate school supporter.
A voter must be registered through MPAC.ca as a separate school supporter. This applies to homeowners and tennants, whether or not you have children.
How do I make sure I’m registered as a Catholic school supporter?
It is important to verify your school support designation, especially if you have moved recently. Home-owners and tenants should review their support designation.
If you don’t make a choice with mpac.ca, your support will default to the English public school board.
In Ontario, mpac.ca maintains school-support information and provides a separate process for changing school support. Importantly, you cannot change your school support when you arrive to vote on voting day.
What do I need to bring with me?
Voters are required to show one piece of identification containing their name and address. Photo ID and a signature are not required.

Can I vote for a Catholic school trustee if my children don’t attend Catholic school, or if i don’t have children?
Eligibility is based on your school-support status and the provincial rules—not whether you currently have children enrolled in a Catholic school.
Ontario’s eligibility rules for English Catholic school boards require the elector to be Roman Catholic and the elector or their spouse to be an English-language separate school supporter.
